Hi! I'm Sarah Jabian, an undergrad at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I'm majoring in computer science and minoring in cybersecurity.
Though I'm ultimately working towards pursuing a career in the cybersecurity industry, I chose to major in computer science so I could build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of technology. After all, in order to effectively protect a system, you need to understand how it works.
I enjoy the challenge of learning new concepts and broadening my skill set. (In fact, the whole reason this website exists is because I was bored and wanted to learn more about web development!) I'm drawn to cybersecurity not just because it's a constantly evolving field with endless opportunities to learn, but also because of the real, tangible impact it has on the world.

Sploosh is a hydration-tracking app I designed and developed with a team for an Application Programming class. It gamifies the act of drinking water by rewarding users for their progress towards their daily hydration goal. Through Sploosh, users can build consistent hydration habits, and care for a virtual fish in the process.
We used Java, XML, and Android Studio to develop this app. This project gave us the opportunity to learn a lot about app development and user experience design.
